Sushi 101 with Chef Hannah Cupples - $55 per person
In this introductory sushi class Chef Cupples will teach you the history of sushi, definition of “sushi,” what short grain rice is and why it’s different and important for rolling. You’ll also learn about the cultural importance of sushi and training for apprenticeships, and the differences of “American Sushi.” Learn about the tools that you’ll need to make sushi at home and the ingredients (vegetables, fish, rice seasoning, nori sheets, garnishes, why freshness matters). Then Chef Cupples will show you how to roll a vegetarian sushi roll, and you’ll roll one of your very own, plus, see how to roll an “inside out” roll! This class is taught in our workshop format. You will work in groups of two but make your very own roll to take home!
