Take a trip with us down the Spice Road! This 4-class series takes you on a journey around the world, exploring exotic spices and herbs that you may have never seen before. Learn not only how to use these spices, but how to pair them with other flavors, where to buy them and how to identify them. In Week 4 explore the unique spices of Southeast Asia. This is a hands-on class.
On the menu:
• Vietnam – Sambal Oelek (chili sauce), Xa (lemongrass), Rau Den (amaranth greens) – Canh Rau Den (Amaranth greens and shrimp soup)
• Laos – Mak Bpee (banana flower), Rattan Shoots – Tam Muk Muang (Green Mango and Shrimp Salad) Nộm Hoa Chuối Thịt Gà (Banana flower salad with chicken)
• Phillipines – Pandan (screwpine), Bayabas (Guava), Rambutan (lychee-like fruit) -- Sinigang na Baboy sa Bayabas (pork and guava soup)
