FREE Geaux Gumbo Cooking Class
Time & Location
About The Event
October 12th is National Gumbo Day and we're getting ready to celebrate! Mardi Nothing screams Cajun Cooking louder that a piping hot bowl of GUMBO! It also means that it is time for a very special FREE & LIVE Virtual Event at Gather via ZOOM! Watch or Cook Along with Dave in real-time and ask as many questions as you can think up!
In this 2 hour (approx.) live, online class, Dave is going to talk about all things gumbo: the history, tips and tricks, why the order of adding ingredients is important, and if that’s not enough, he is going to make his Seafood Gumbo Recipe.
And then… we’re making cornbread. Gather Cornbread. If you were at the cookoff last year you’ll remember and if you weren’t, you’re definitely not going to want to miss this recipe!
Dave has recorded a video on how to make an easy dark Cajun roux in 1 hour (link below). 1 week prior to class we will also email you with the Gumbo recipe, and equipment/prep and shopping list for anyone that would like to cook along, or make at a later time!

The Zoom Link for this event will be sent out 24 hours prior to the event!
After the cookoff last year, Dave wrote a blog post about Gumbo Making – if you are interested, you can read it here!
