Learn the basics about canning, preserving, fermentation and more in this informative hands-on class. We’ll discuss high-acid vs. low-acid, water bath vs. pressure canning and more. And…did you know that our altitude impacts how to preserve foods? Join in on this class to learn how! Each participant will leave with a jar of each recipe.
On the menu:
• Cucumber Pickles – build your own recipe with a pickle “flavor-bar”. Also, we discuss hot water bath, quick preserved, pressure canned, fermented and all of the ways that pickles can be made.
• Fermented Garden Salsa – we’ll use summer’s bounty to make this effervescent fermented salsa that is good for your belly
• Ginger & Chile Pickled Green Beans – This recipe addresses how to adjust for altitude without ruining your recipes
• Jezebel Sauce – This sweet & savory fruit sauce is jamlike and great served with cheeses. It also makes a great gift!
